The metal also has some scratches and dings along with corrosion stains. Overall it functions well and moves smoothly. The chuck holds the bit well and the switch functions. This is a more scarce single spiral model. This may or may not be an antique, but there is little information available.     Note : On this model, when the switch is in the right position, it ratchets, meaning that on the pull stroke the bit stays in position when kept in position by the screw slot. After being drawn back, the user can push again to continue to drive the screw clockwise. It is designed to drive screws inward and is related to assembly line work. In the left switch position, it does not ratchet and moves in either direction; clockwise when pushed, counter-clockwise when pulled.
