VINTAGE 70's
Rhodochrosite good-luck(as the story goes..)charm-amulet-pendant form .Measures 1in , good condition, vintage 70's inventory never worn nor sold. Rare to find. Map (no physical map is included in this auction) is only to show the general location of where the rough used, was mined. Very nice banding!!
Origin: foothills of the Andes mountain range in Catamarca province, Argentina( near city of Andalgala), Capillitas Mine.
This particular Rhodochrosite pendant was carved from was mined in the renowned Capillitas-mine in the early 70's (famous for it's fine Rhodochrosite output for many decades, specially the pink banding-swirl grade with white/off white/cream ),

and then carved into approx.
1.0inch-figa
with the typical artisan finish of a gemstone pendant handcrafted by
local craftsmen from then with the rustic appearnce many figas had originally

banding , swirls
,
patterns
are in a nice pink-intertwined/white-tonality (rare to see with such detailed pattern) & light-pink tonality intertwined with whitish tones in the pink-figa,as well as more vibrant layers , deeper pink tonalities etc ....Rhodochrosite is of a very nice grade in terms of personality and banding-swirls etc.
Condition:  very good condition, unworn/never retailed charm-pendant from 1970's-inventory.

Figas (Feegah) are historically intertwined with good-luck beliefs (ea. country-origin has it's particular connotations of "luck", ...fertility, fortune etc) in several countries, Brazil being the main renowned one that uses this figure-motif very  frequently in their jewelry & charms ...often they are dressed with gems, gold tops, gold or silver fingernails, platinum, different gemstones (aqua, lapis, amethyst, quartz, etc) and are also carved out of wood in a unique artisan rustic fashion similar to these.These particular ones have that artisan-rustic-finish, with a beautiful rhodochrosite-polish typical of the argentine-mined Rhodochrosite..
